Rugged Garen Lol Skin

First off, this is one of the only Garen skins in which he doesn’t have hilariously large shoulder pads – with that said, he’s not quite as rugged as the name suggests;

Sure, his sword is chipped, which is a nice touch, but his hair hardly seems mussed at all. His face is immaculate, and his face is so unblemished by scars and wrinkles that he could be a model for NIVEA face cream.

Honestly, with the way his hair parts to either side, he’s basically Prince Hans, but with stubble.

We don’t want to give the impression that we dislike Rugged Garen though – it’s an excellent skin, but he’s just not as weathered as he should be. It might only cost 750 RP, but a single scar across his cheek would have added so much more character to the skin.

As for the armor, it’s considerably darker. Gone are the bright plates of silver and his royal blue scarf. Rugged Garen sports a grey iron shoulder plate over hardened leather armor, kept in place by an unnecessary – albeit eye-catching – number of straps.

With all that said, the sword managed to look worn – not only is it scratched and chipped, but the blade above the hilt is bound, almost as though it’s threatening to break. And, if we’re being honest, the sword is one of, if not the, most important parts of this piece.

As for the splash art; The background is a mess of twisted trees that have a blurred appearance, as though they’re underwater. It’s eye-catching simplistic, but it fits Rugged Garen’s barebones theme. Garen himself is considerably more detailed than the world around him, and his shoulder plate seems to pop out of the screen!

Overall, this isn’t a terrible skin for the low cost of 750 RP, and it’s worth picking up if you’re a Garen fan!
