Nurse Akali Lol Skin

Released back in January of 2011, Nurse Akali is one of the oldest Akali skins in the game. And it’s easy to see why, as nurse outfits definitely seems to appeal to plenty of players fantasies.

That being said, it recently received a graphical update that transformed her splash art into a dark and twisted version.

In the old version of her splash art, she could be seen preparing a syringe. A fretful Amumu could be seen off to the side, crying in trepidation over his jab.

That’s all changed in the new splash art.

Now Akali stands shushing a gagged, wide-eyed man. Behind her, several doctors – including Shen – can be seen operating on a bandaged figure, who might be Amumu!

Everything is colder here, from the clinical white light to Akali’s malice filled facial expression half concealed behind a surgical mask.

In game, Akali wields a giant sickle that she uses to precisely cut short the lives of those who would oppose her – as for her daggers, she now flings out insanely large syringes in their place.

Although she doesn’t have any new voice lines or sound effects, her outfit’s pretty cute!

Dressed in white and red, she looks like a legitimate medical practitioner, and not the psychopathic murderess that she is. Knee high white socks, spare syringes strapped to her leg and a little first aid kit. She even has a little nurse’s cap to boot!

It’s clear that this skin is a reference to Valentine from Skullgirls. However there’s a couple of other pieces of media that it could also be referencing.

Nurse Akali also shares her theme with Surgeon Shen, and she can be seen assisting him in his splash art as he operates on a ‘patient.’
