Most people believe that Jailbreak Graves references that time he broke out of jail — you don't need Heimerdinger-level intelligence to figure that one out. All in all, Graves dashes as often as he gets in trouble with the law. However, we've noticed an inconsistency that'll surprise you, and might prove the end-of-the-line information written on Grave's wiki page to be a smoke screen;
Jailbreak Graves' hair is completely gray, he has glowing golden eyes, and he fires a futuristic gun. This is odd, because the five years Graves spent in prison have already happened, and we know that present-day Graves has black hair and his eyes don't glow (No Sentinel Graves, we are not talking about you). We also know the look of his basic attack, and when we see an enemy hit by it, they definitely don't look crispy or vaporized.
Granted, the five years he spent cooped up in that infamous prison involved lots of nasty torture, and you could claim that he's dyed his hair and beard — that doesn't explain the futuristic gun though, nor the freaky eyes.
We'd say that sometime in the distant future, Graves ends up in jail once more, and (reload time) this skin is based on that event, not the one in his past.
With that out of the way, you're probably ready to get to the good stuff! We'll start with the splash art first — don't worry, it won't take long — and then we'll go over the in-game skin itself.
As mentioned, the splash art features Jailbreak Graves with golden eyes, gray skin, spiky hair and beard, and what looks like a laser blaster in his hands. Why do we believe it's a laser blaster? Well, it's pretty simple.
Jailbreak Graves is framed by a hole in the wall, which he has just torn through in his attempt to escape. However, there's no debris near the wall and no dust in the air. This implies that the section of the wall was vaporized (as we may disregard any kind of magic damage), and that would have required firing a high-power laser blaster or another kind of futuristic weapon. The effect certainly couldn't have been achieved using a regular old bullet or even an explosive shell.
The smoke pouring from the end of the weapon is a shimmering blue, and the actual weapon itself looks so out-of-the-future that it must be some form of a laser gun. In contrast to the regular splash art of the champion, the one of the skin, does not contain smoke or any shells coming out of the gun too. Of course, there is one possibility that we don't like to think about;
It's entirely possible that the artists simply forgot to include the debris, dust and shells. After all, his in-game basic attack sends multiple bullets the enemies' way, but we think our theory is cooler, so that's the one we're going with.
Other notable features include the purple light that streams in behind Jailbreak Graves, illuminating the two stacks of chains that dangle in his cell, along with some strange metal skull (probably one of his enemies caught up in an unlucky situation), which we'll later come back to. Jailbreak Graves himself is outfitted in pretty new armor, but his face is neither pretty nor new.
The years seem to have taken their toll on him. All he can muster as he steps toward freedom is the slightest hint of a tired smile. With that said, we can move on to what you really came here for;
In-game, Jailbreak Graves has no new animations either of his movement, basic attacks, or particle. Graves' abilities also look the same. There are also no enemy champion Despite that, however, he's definitely eye-catching.
Whoever smuggled this gear in for Jailbreak Graves has a job waiting for them in the fashion industry if their new model of being a criminal mastermind doesn't work out. Thanks to them, every enemy champion can be blinded by Graves' splendor. That is if physical damage from his basic attacks, smoke screen abilities, and explosive shell weren't enough.
Atop his shoulder sits a small lantern. This helps light his path as he tracks down those enemies who have wronged him. The gun looks incredible, as we've already established, but his outfit also looks fabulously futuristic. The cloak is a deep crimson, with a skull emblazoned upon the back of it
Here's a little something most people miss. That skull is the exact same one that hangs in Jailbreak Graves' jail cell, which implies it's a decoration he himself put there to make the prison feel more homely.
The knee guards help give the skin a grittier, steampunk sort of feel, and the intricate armor really ties it all together.
In summary, Jailbreak Graves is a wonderful skin if you love your League of Legends Champions rugged, but want something with a more futuristic feel.
The history of Jailbreak Graves skin dates back to October 19th, 2011, when it was first released in League of Legends. Its later update in 2015 also didn't change the look of Graves' abilities or add enemy champion interaction. However, because of it the Summoners can now enjoy dealing physical damage to their enemies in the armor of better quality and more vivid colors.
Right now it's one of many retired Legacy skins.
If you're wondering about the rarity and value of Jailbreak Graves skin in League of Legends, you might be surprised to learn that it's not your ordinary skin. Although its regular cost is 975 RP, just like it is in the case of Victorious Graves, you cannot simply buy it from the client store (although for different reasons). The skin is considered a Legacy skin, which means it was once available for purchase but was later locked away in the Legacy Vault, making it more difficult to obtain than others. This has made Jailbreak Graves an even more wanted man, and the skin a symbol of criminal honor for those who manage to get their hands on it.
If you're a fan of the renowned mercenary Graves and want to get the Jailbreak skin, it won't be easy. This skin is a Legacy skin, which means it's locked away in a Vault and can only be obtained during certain events. However, with some explosive temper, persistence, and attack speed you might still have a chance to obtain it.
You can wait for a Legacy event to come around, but be warned, the cooldown on these events is more than slightly longer than Graves' dashes. Alternatively, you can try your luck with Mystery Gifts or Hextech Crafting, which offers a chance to unlock this skin along with other Legacy skins and rewards. But remember, getting it is like hitting an enemy champion with multiple bullets — it requires skill, patience, and a bit of luck.
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
