Headhunter Rengar Lol Skin

There’s a few easter eggs for us to unpack here, but let’s begin with the obvious;

Headhunter Rengar was clearly inspired by the Yautja from ‘Predator.’ The Alien heartbeat can even be heard when he activates “Thrill of the Hunt.”

It’s worth noting that The Predator strongly inspired Rengar as a Champion, but Headhunter Rengar takes it an extra step further.

Another easter egg is the skulls, visible in Headhunter Rengar’s splash art.

The skull of Dragon and Baron Nashor are clearly visible, impaled upon spikes with rain pelting them. There are more skulls visible in the distance, but they’re too blurred to be distinctive. Some have speculated that the skull adorning Headhunter Rangers’ shoulder plate is the giant Spider, Vilemaw, from the Twisted Treeline. We have our doubts, as it seems only to have four eyes. That being said, we do see the similarity, and it’s a nice theory.

Headhunter Rengar himself stands front and center, head tilted back in a ferocious roar – or perhaps he’s lapping up that rainwater because he’s a thirsty boy. Either way, he looks stunning, but we do have a minor gripe with this splash art.

The focus of the piece is lit by the moon above, and what appears to be a blazing fire off to the right. Given the heavy downpour, the fire sticks out as slightly odd – of course, it’s possible that it’s partially under cover, but the way the light falls doesn’t seem to suggest that, and therefore comes off as slightly jarring.

In-game, Headhunter Rengar is outfitted with an iron mask that obscures his face, along with the classic Predator dreadlocks. He wears advanced metal armor, and a bone tooth necklace hangs around his neck.
