Blackthorn Morgana Lol Skin

Blackthorn Morgana is a pretty great skin, despite some of the criticism it’s received since her rework;

Previously, the leaves of her wings were each defined. That is not the case with the reworked version. Instead, they all seem to merge together, making them resemble leathern dragon wings. Plus, the animations of her W are, in some people’s eyes, lacking. We’re here to tell you that this is still a remarkable skin.

First, the splash art creates a nice portrayal of Blackthorn Morgana – that being said, it’s not as nice as the old version of our splash art. Keep in mind that this is just our opinion and you might think we’re complete idiots. You won’t disagree with our next opinion though;

Blackthorn Morgana does an excellent job of combining plant and person. The limbs of her wings resemble branches, yet it’s still believable that she could fly with them. The leaves could do with being a little more detailed, as previously mentioned, but the tangled mass of thorns around her are interesting enough – the tips are tinted pink, which from a distance resembles blood. However, Riot have utilized a tactic that they often do;

The background is almost none existent, as it has been filled with vines, along with a heavy covering of fog. We know this is some form of forest from the trees to the left of the screen, but it offers little more than that. Riot does this all the time with smoke, fire, mountains and more. In fact, if you’re an artist who doesn’t like backgrounds then it’s a quick way for you to cut corners.

In-game, Blackthorn Morgana could be based on Morgan Le Fay, a Witch from Arthurian legend. She’s received some pretty snazzy abilities too!

This includes her recall, where a short saplings springs up and offers Blackthorn Morgana an apple – unfortunately, she recalls before she can take a bite. When she dies, she crumples into ash and autumn leaves, billowing away on the breeze.

Then there’s her ultimate. Soul Shackles now casts thorny vines out to all nearby enemies. You could think of it as though they’re affixing themselves to Blackthorn Morgana’s foes, choking them until stunned.

Overall, this is a quality skin and one you do not want to miss!
