Did you know that Pax Sivir is one of the 10 rarest League of Legends skins? That's why we've decided to include a champion spotlight video for this skin.
PAX Sivir is a legacy skin that was released back in 2011.
The skin was gifted to people who attended the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) event in 2011. Back when skin codes were available for League of Legends Riot would give out free skins at each year's PAX event to attendees. These skins were included in goodie bags for all of the participants who purchased a ticket to the event.
Out of the thousands of people who attended the PAX event every year, not everyone played LoL. This meant many skin codes were left unused and expired, while some were sold online through 3rd party websites and sold for hundreds of dollars. Since this skin was so rare and high in demand, it wasn’t unusual for PAX Sivir codes to reach over $200 each. Seen as a collectors item, only the most die-hard fans would be willing to splash out for this super rare skin.
The skin itself is a reference to the film Tron and features Sivir dressed in futuristic biker gear. If you’ve seen the film then you’ll notice the resemblance straight away. The skin features no new animations or sounds but does have a slight model change for her new red boomerang. The particles for her spells have also been changed to give them a red trail which matches the theme.
Currently, PAX Sivir is no longer available as the skin codes were disabled in 2014 and can no longer be redeemed. There is no indication that this skin will be returning to the store, so the only way to obtain this skin is to buy an account with it already redeemed. Sivir shares the PAX theme with Jax and Twisted Fate which have also been gifts for the other PAX events in previous years.
In 2017 there was a new revision of PAX Sivir released as NEO PAX Sivir. Similar to the Championship Riven 2016 skin, NEO PAX Sivir is a brand new skin based on the original PAX skin. There are of course a few differences which make it stand out and differ from the original.
The main difference between the two PAX skins are the new array of colors. NEO PAX Sivir features the same model as the original PAX Sivir but has a new color scheme of blue, red and gold. Compare this to the original PAX Sivir of black, red and luminous blue, and it’s a striking difference.
Players who already own the original PAX Sivir will receive the new NEO PAX Sivir in their account for free. In addition to this, players who own the original will also get a special loading screen border.
