Order of the Lotus Irelia Lol Skin

The only lore available of this skin can be summarized as such;

Irelia accidentally bumped into the Order of the Lotus, who opened her mind to the cycle of life, death and rebirth. It seems likely that she took plenty of drugs during this time period, and then she went on to fight for the Order of the Lotus, knowing that her soul can never die.

The idea of “Life, death and rebirth” is present in most major religions, but when we consider the Lotus, it seems almost certain that it’s a reference to Buddhism.

Again, the Lotus plays a big part in many Asian cultures, but in Japan, it is revered for one key feature. The lotus flower is able to rise from the murky depths and bloom into a vibrant flower. While some might say this represents enlightenment, it could also be a metaphor for life, death, and rebirth.

The Lotus is “born” out of those dark waters, spends its days basking in the sun, and eventually dies and returns to the water – only for its seeds to shoot up and begin the process anew.

Therefore it seems safe to say that Riot made this skin as a nod to Buddhism, but who knows – let’s not dwell on the philosophical perspective, for too long, you came to learn about Order of the Lotus Irelia!

First, her new clothes. She’s traded out her old armor for a bubble gum pink corset and knee-high boots – her outfit is also studded with emeralds here and there. The sleeves even fade from pink to white, just like a lotus’ petals!

Her hair has been dyed a deep lavender, and she seems to be keeping her hair in place with a single lotus flower – it looks a little flimsy in my opinion, but she also has floating blades. It’s best not to question the physics of the game too far.

Speaking of blades, they’ve also received a new paint job!

They actually look like they’re made out of sharpened pieces of porcelain, stained pink in places. Delicate, yet deadly – an appropriate weapon for the fair Irelia.
