Riot Games, as always provides us with the skin bio, which does not seem to explain a lot. It's probably the only skin that features an event that is rather inexplicable. The only thing we can say for sure is that it is connected to water.
"Reigning from his frozen throne on a lonely mountain, Kassadin prepares in secret for a special festival hidden deep in icy wastes. Whether it's a winter sports festival, none can say... except for the attendees, who think he's being ridiculous"
Especially the last word is something most of the players agree with. The skin is everything but typical. You'll either believe that this skin has a certain quirky charm to it, or you'll loathe it entirely. For some it's the best Kassadin skin, others can't bear to look at it.
League of Legends is played by all kinds of people. That's why we'll do our best to remain impartial and give you the facts, but our opinion might seep through in places. Without further ado, let's take a look at the Festival Kassadin skin!
In his splash art, Festival Kassadin sits with his purple eldritch blade aloft, the energy radiating off of it illuminates the snow and icicles around him. Just like Pre-void Kassadin, he doesn't seem to have gone through many horrors in his life. In fact, he seems rather bored.
What's going on here? Well, it's a tad unclear, although we're getting strong “Lich King” vibes. There's a stone throne with skulls affixed to it, and Kassadin sits with his head cocked slightly.
This expression suggests he's considering something, but as with all Kassadin skins; not much of his face is visible. The head cock is a nice touch though.
Unfortunately, not much more can be said about this piece – the background is not particularly interesting, and Festival Kassadin's art style looks like it's been pulled from Season 2 of LoL. Of course, for some, this nostalgic element of the skin's theme may make it one of the best Kassadin skins (again, no judgment here!)
In-game, Festival Kassadin skin features him as dressed up in an intriguing red and green robe. It's clear that they were aiming for a festive feel with this skin, but we were left scratching our heads when we first noticed it.
His outfit almost resembled some outlandish Christmas tree costume, with the green parts being the foliage and the red, the tinsel. Of course, we later realized that it's simply meant to be a Christmassy robe, and not the tree itself.
The ice crown he wears is a nice touch, but as mentioned previously; this skin lacks direction. They took Kassadin and slapped some festive colors on him then called it done.
Luckily, for those who like to see some direction and story in their skins. Kassadin has much more to offer. All in all, he has eight more skins, two of which, are also locked in the Legacy Vault: Deep One Kassadin, and Count Kassadin.
Don't get us wrong though; Festive Kassadin used to cost only 520 RP. One cannot expect the epicness of Hextech Kassadin for this price. It's also a Legacy skin, which might mean it's worth the cost!
Legacy skins are still obtainable thanks to our high end account store which features League of Legends accounts with the rarest skins at the best prices.
