Riot is once again changing placement games. To recap their previous changes:
From patch 14.15 (31st July 2024), new accounts must meet additional requirements. In addition to reaching level 30 and owning at least 20 champions, players now must complete 10 games in Normal Summoner’s Rift queues before being eligible for Ranked play. This change aims to get better data to assess the skill levels of new players and place them appropriately in Ranked matches. This change affects only your placements MMR for the first 5 games you play. Afterwards your ranking is only affected by your ranked games performance.
Previously, the only prerequisites for entering Ranked queues were reaching level 30 and owning at least 20 champions. It seems that Riot Games wants to prevent volatile matches by introducing new sources of data before putting you in Ranked mode.
What is fresh MMR now? Well, that’s not easy to define. Previously, we defined it as accounts that hadn’t played any normal or ranked games. We will continue selling those as Blue Essence accounts. However, if you want to jump right into action, we are now offering normal win accounts. You can find them in the unranked level 30+ smurfs section, sorted by the number of wins on each.
We do not have hard data on where you will get placed with what amount of wins, but we will soon!
