As we fast approach the 2017 summer eSports tournaments in League of Legends, it’s always good to look at the changes from the previous years. This year the Chinese League of Legends Pro League (LPL) has adopted the same game format as the EU and NA LCS.
To make sure you fully understand the new pro league formats we thought we’d quickly run through them all. Here are the current formats for the most important leagues this summer.
The 2017 EU LCS will take the following format:

After having the same format for quite some time, the Chinese LPL has finally decided to change their format. As of 2017, the Chinese LPL will adopt the EU LCS format for selecting regular season groups. The highest ranked teams from the previous Spring split will head the groups with other teams being selected. This also means the format now includes the best of 3 matches instead of the best of 2.
